Overview
In this article we will learn about how to change a User’s Team. Before learning that let’s understand what a Team is referred to in SalesHood?
Team: A user in SalesHood reports to a Manager. The user automatically comes under that Manager’s Team.

Important considerations about Team
- An Individual User in SalesHood must have a Primary Manager. Therefore, an Individual User must be assigned to a Team
- An Individual user will have one Primary Manager but may have multiple Secondary Managers. As a result, the Individual user will be added to one Primary Team but multiple Secondary Teams.
- A Manager, Coach and Publisher user may not have any Team in SalesHood as they may not have any Manager assigned to them.
Who can manage a Team?
- A Coach can change any user’s Team by changing their Primary or Secondary Manager
- A Manager and Publisher users can only manage the users belonging to their own team
How to Change a User’s Team?
Currently there are 3 ways a User’s Team can be changed. We will learn about each of these methods in detail.
- Change Team from the UI
- Re-import the user using a CSV or Excel sheet
- Re-import the user using Text method
Before learning in detail about the methods, please note that Re-importing methods will technically re-add the users to the instance. So this will change their Manager as well as any other info you add. These methods will not have any impact on user’s completion or engagement data.
Change Team from the UI
- Go to the Hamburger Menu and click Manager Users
- Search for the user in the Search box
- Click on Actions tab
- Click on Change Manager > Select the new Manager
Result: The user will be assigned a new Manager and they will get added to the new Manager’s Team


Re-import the user using a CSV or Excel sheet
To change the Team of multiple users at once. This option can be used.
Create a CSV/XLS/XLSX file containing users info in the following format

In the sheet Manager’s Email Column, enter the New Manager’s email. The Users will be automatically get assigned to that Manager’s Team after the file is run.
Note: Changing any other user details in the file columns will also get updated. Ensure to verify the user details.
Once the file is ready. Go to the Manage Users section
In the file Manager’s Email Column, enter the New Manager’s email. The Users will be automatically get assigned to that Manager’s Team.

Once the file is ready. Go to the Manage Users section
- Click Invite Users
- Import Users
- Click on the File Area to upload the File
- Enter the new Password for the users (this option only comes up if you instance uses Password)
- Click Import Users button

Re-import the user using Text method
This option can be used if the User Team or any other user info needs to be updated at once.
Go to the Manage Users section.
- Click Invite Users
- Click Text option
- Using the below format, Enter the user details to be updated
- Enter the new Password for the users (this option only comes up if you instance uses Password)
- Click Import Users


Result: The User will get added to the Team of the New Manager mentioned in the Text field.
